I Slept

October 25, 2009

It seemed like I didn’t have much of a sleep again.  My throat still hurt and I felt kind of knocked out.  You can imagine my surprise when I grabbed my cell phone, opened it and the little digital clock said 9:50 a.m.  I went over to my new flower-laden curtain and pulled it up.  The sun was shining and I could feel the warm through the glass.  The one morning I didn’t want to sleep, I did.  I had wanted to wake up at 8 so that I could watch the whole Michigan State/Iowa game.

I got the computer going and the third quarter had just started with a 3-3 score.  I really loved watching the game while I did my P90x yoga routine.  When I had finished the routine it was 6-6 and the Hawkeyes were threatening again.  They managed a field goal and the Spartan needed to score with only a few minutes left.  Their drive had me screaming the whole time and I just knew that after Cousins threw that touchdown to Blair White they were going to play a prevent defense and allow Iowa to march down the field.  That’s exactly what happened.  The blitzes came too little too late and even though they got Iowa into a last play situation it wasn’t enough.  I immediately changed the channel in disgust and began to practice some Korean and skype.

At about 3 I prepped for dinner.  I ground some chicken in the blender and mixed it with oatmeal, eggs and onion so that I could make some chicken patties.  I took my raw goods to my dads, but before I cooked we enjoyed the weather with a walk.  Despite how crappy I started to feel, I really needed to be outside and have some physical activity.  I made the patties when we got back and they were pretty awesome.  I had to excuse myself shortly after dinner so I could go home and relax.  An unpleasant surprise was waiting for me in the hallway.  When I started to wheel my bike to the elevator it rolled very laboriously.  I looked down and the tire was flat. I walked it part of the way home and stopped at a gas station.  They were nice enough to bring out a pump and let me fill the tire.  I hope that the air stays because I need it to get to yoga.

When I got home I did the dishes and watched some TV.  I need to feel all better tomorrow because my classes are starting up again.  Busy times are here again.
